Recent studies show yoga has a beneficial effect on symptoms and quality of life for people with asthma, but its effect on lung function and medication is unclear. Asthma is a common chronic disease that around 300 million people suffer from it around the world. Recent studies have examined the likely impact of yoga on relief and reduce the problems caused by asthma. According to summarize the results of randomized trials in the Cochrane Library, there is evidence to suggest that yoga practice can improve somewhat the quality of life for people with asthma and its symptoms. However, the researchers emphasize still to do most studies in this area. Researchers at this library were examined 15 randomized controlled trials that included 1048 men and women. Most of these experiments were conducted in India and then in Europe and America. Most of the participants were with mild to moderate asthma for 6 months to over 23 years. In 6 study only examined the effect of breathing during yoga practice and in other studies was evaluated the efficacy of Yoga, including breathing, posture and meditation. Studies were done within two weeks to more than four years. The researchers based on five studies found that yoga can reduce the impact of asthma on quality of life of the people.
